It is so hard to find the Koi brush pens in Stockholm, I tried them for the first time in the States when I was over there for Christmas holidays and...oooo I ended up buying so many! So this tutorial comes at a perfect time :)

Hi all! I just got my copy of Dasherie in the mail box, and I got goosebumps from seeing such amazing works featured, especially when I could "recognise" the style! "oh, I know this one! I know her! I know that one!" Well, to "know" is a big word, but I feel we are all friends in the magical world of the web and Instagram  :P ;D

Well done pals!

Haldus can't wait to sit on it! ahaha

Ciao Cecilia!

A big welcome from a fellow Italian :) As you mentioned in your intro, it is hard to find people interested in calligraphy -on an amateur level....so happy to see AAAALLL kinds of levels in here and IG  8) Keep up the good work, un abbraccio!

Hello! another graphic designer here  8)
I usually get "bored" with things very easily, but by mixing graphic design (editorial, logo design & packaging etc) with calligraphy, I never get tired! I think I would probably lose my interest if i only had to do calligraphy  :P no offence ehehe

Well done!! This shows how good it is to keep everything (or a lot!) you do, especially if you are a beginner...looking back gives you that extra boost, "I CAN DO IT!"
very inspirational  :-*

Yummy E! and great quote :)

I think the trick -especially for me- is to transform the feeling I have when looking at amazing calligraphy into something powerful:

I feel frustrated, almost envious, thinking I will never be that good! I give up after 30 mins because I compare my work with those who have been doing it for years, with those who do it as a job, with those that are simply naturally gifted (oh yes, gotta accept that). So the time I spend drooling over pinterest, that could oh so well be spent in practicing! For example.
My goal is to transform that feeling mixed with frustration and marvel, into the fuel that keeps me getting better...I have to repeat that to myself every day.

And speaking of accidents, I spilled some nice higgings eternal black onto the leather bag my grandmother gave me...and was about to drink the water for cleaning the nib...a few times! !

May the force be with you, all newbies <3
