The more important question here is ... what were you trying to sign when bloodying your nib?  ;) I'd rethink that! ;D
I was writing a story....

You know, I don't think I have!  Accidentally tattooed myself, yes, but no cuts thus far, touch wood.
Tattoo artist asks how you got that neat tattoo on your finger 'oh, quillpen stabbed me,' lol
you are not alone....constantly poking my fingers whenever I am putting the pen back to my pen holder container/jar.
You are not alone! I cut myself trying to pull out a nib once. I've been more careful since then (still get nicked sometimes though)!
I do that alot....

I have definitely done this!!! Constantly stabbing my hand on them, poking my arm ... I cut a deep slice in one finger once with a Nikko G, pulling it out of a stubborn holder.  Calligraphy injuries: more common than you'd think  ;D ;D ;D
I sliced my finger on a crowquill once. I was using vermillion ink at the time. It took me some time to realize it was blood and not vermillion ink flowing out of my cut.
Moya, thats kinda what happened to me! I was cleaning the ink off and thankfully dident end up bleading, but i did end up slicing my finger.
Sue, i really hope you cleaned that cut out good.  And that you weren't signing a contract for a bridezilla!

Oooh, I'm another who would just sit in a chatroom nonstop and put my 2c in on every single discussion ... maybe it's safer not!

(I'd have to avoid it at work, and timezones would get in my way - all you Northern Hemisphere people! - but I'd still love it!)
I haz one word for ya! INSOMNIAC! <3 I got insomnia, bet I'm not the only one, so definately not going to be a problem *prays to fall asleep soon*

I know a little about that problem I say with a sarcastic little. I am right there with ya

What is the name of your nib?  (Please don't say Derek or Brenda ... the manufacturer's name and number).  There are plenty of nib designs with a bend or crimp in them, but they do tend to be old ones.  Actually, the most pertinent question is whether it writes okay - if so, it's fine.
I got it in my first Nostalgic Impressions set. When Jamie gave it to me he had had it for several years. none of the nibs in that set have names on them*grrrr*. it's the only nib in that set that really writes effectively, but compared to the nibs from my new set it's pretty poor. and I dont think thats how its supposed to be, i have a few nibs that are 'crimped' slighly, and those write fine. its kinda Scratcy?
