Welcome to The Flourish Forum!

The Flourish Forum is a community for anyone who loves calligraphy & lettering. Everyone is here to connect, share, learn, and teach in a happy environment free from ridicule or harassment.

Please help us maintain a pleasant environment by adhering to the following guidelines:

Please be kind, polite, and respectful.
Please do not use profanity or obscene images (G rated only).
Please do not harass, threaten, discriminate, or otherwise talk rudely to any member both on or off the forum.
Please try to comment, encourage, and offer advice as much as you ask questions and/or share.


You agree, through your use of this forum, that you have read and agree to abide by the following Flourish Forum rules and policies:

1. Please read the Guidelines, Rules, & Policies in their entirety.
2. You must register to post and see photos.
3. It is ideal (although not required) to make your user name your first name and either last name or last initial. Or you may use your business name. If it is already taken, please add a number.
4. You agree to never give your password out except to an administrator. You agree to NEVER use another person's account for any reason. You also agree to never impersonate any person or entity, misrepresent yourself, or your affiliation with any person or entity.
5. For your safety and that of your forum friends, passwords should be COMPLEX and UNIQUE containing both letters, numbers, and capitalization.
6. Please use an avatar. It does not have to be a photo of you but no animation. 80 x 80 pixels. Maximum file size: 97 KB.
7. You agree to not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or United States Federal law.
8. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material.
9. All work posted on the forum is copyrighted by the artist. Do NOT copy or save any images posted by another member. It's not nice, not to mention illegal.
10. You agree to NOT use the forum to confront, criticize, or otherwise speak unwell of another.
11. You agree to NOT publish personal and/or private information about others, including email addresses, phone numbers, etc.
12. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are forbidden on the forum. Do NOT post any requests for fundraising or special causes. For sale posts are allowed in the “Marketplace” forum.
13. Do NOT post any business advertisements (Paid advertisements are permitted in The Flourish Forum advertising areas).
14. If you see any post which violates the rules of the forum or is otherwise offensive, please report it immediately to the Forum administrator.
15. Please do not post the same content multiple times in different forums. Choose the forum wisely.
16. The Flourish Forum reserves the right to remove, edit, move, or close any thread or member profile information at any time, for any reason.
17. The posted messages express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of the forum, its staff, its subsidiaries, or owner. The Flourish Forum, its owners, and administrators are not responsible for any content of any member's post and cannot confirm the validity of posts.

OK:
links to your website, blog, and social networks
graphic under 70x140 pixels

NOT OK:
anything linking to a request for money
any link to a business advertisement (your business website is OK)

Please note: With each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This would only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.

Also note, the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browser's cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or send any other form of information to your computer.

In order to keep our forum safe and sound, I have implemented some new security measures.

1. All new member registrations will be approved by me.
2. All new members will be requested to post a brief hello or intro.
3. All lurkers/members who have not visited the forum in the past 120 days will be deleted.
4. The first few posts will be moderated for approval to prove you are not a spammer.
5. The confirmation questions will remain in place until a set number of posts have been made.

Unfortunately, this will lose us some members but I would rather we are a tight, safe bunch than subjected to spam attacks.

Hopefully, this will help keep the meanies out. As always, suggestions, comments are welcome.

Please note the following changes to our terms of use agreement. #3 has been updated to reflect it is ideal but not required to use your first name and either last name or last initial as a username. And #4 has been updated to include it is not allowed to impersonate any person or entity, misrepresent yourself, or your affiliation with any person or entity.
