Sure thing! There are just so many different types and names and different hardness/softness that it can be really confusing. I was just buying them randomly and trying with varying degrees of success, so it's nice to have a resources like this :)

Thanks Linda!

Thanks Linda! This is very helpful!

Unlike me who chose a brush pen because of the cute bunnies on it!   ;D

Hi!

Very cool! But the link doesn't seem to exist or work anymore.

Am I mistaking?

Thanks!

Chris.

Looks like they reformatted the blog - but I found it by looking up blog posts from April.

Thank you very much Linda! I just stood in the artist shop last week and was completely overwhelmed with all the brush pens they had. This helps a lot!! :)

Neat! Thank you for sharing, Linda! I always stand in front of all the brush pens and blink trying to figure out which to try. This will be very helpful :) Hopefully less blinking time and more writing time!

I can recommend Pentel art brush or pocket brush if you're just starting out. The thing with brush is you're gonna use a lot of ink to practice and that means spending a lot of money on cartridges.
My favorite to use is a waterbrush pen loaded with fountain pen ink, I love seeing how the ink flows.
It's nice to try the Tombow / fude brush pen markers and I can easily use one pen in one week and I also hate throwing things away that often, so I opted for the ones that are refillable. Refills can be expensive too so I thought of just using a water brush pen, I've also used printer inks as cheaper alternative (this may eventually clogg the brush but I've been using mine for almost 2 years).

Here's a rough sample of what I have, done in same style and medium pressure. I'm by no means an expert, feel free to ask any questions.

Yup! I own the red sister of your pen :P ... also purchased because of the bunnies. The sailor brush pen is lovely to work with though :D
