The brush pen is clean
Expressive, travel friendly
Schin hates the brush pen.

Letter Pixels / Re: Any Squarespace users?
« on: September 09, 2014, 04:21:47 PM »
Hmm, I currently use Wordpress and want to update my theme (I need to totally revamp my portfolio selections, too). But I've heard about Squarespace and wondered if it would work better for me... maybe I'll give it a shot.

I used to get offended when people would unfollow me whenever I posted a non-lettering photo... but now I just feel like, 'who the heck cares? This is me, take it or leave it.' Switching back and forth between two accounts would drive me nuts, so there's only one @emvfitzpatrick on Instagram, haha

Gahhhhh, I wanna take it!! I need to wait a lil bit and see how the money's going...  :o

Schin, I am so excited to hear that there's a calligraphy guild in Las Vegas! I've been searching the web for something like this and haven't found anything yet. I will totally be y'all's newest member in June!  :D

I am a member of a very new guild in Vegas called the Fabulous Las Vegas Scribes. We only started meeting this year and have about 10 members.. very small indeed but cozy! We meet every month at a room designated to us which has proper projectors and tables, bring snacks and usually there are members giving demonstrations and lessons. It's very intimate and friendly and everyone is free to just go around socializing, I love it!

Vince, thanks for the links, your lettering looks great!

Thank you, everyone! I'll have to keep my eyes peeled.  :)

Oh, thanks, I've been looking for some cheaper paper now that some of my good stuff is starting to run down, but wasn't sure what to get!  :)

I do like the spontaneity, but I agree that it doesn't really flow with that particular cover... maybe that kind of style works better with some kind of structure/layout to it.

Tools & Supplies / Re: Rusty nibs :(
« on: January 07, 2014, 06:51:26 PM »
Oh, man!  :(  Do you clean and dry them really well when you're done using them? I live in a very humid climate, but I've only had this problem with nibs I didn't clean and/or dry well enough.

I like the Brause EF66 as well, it's pretty flexible. I find that with the pressure I use, though, I get much finer lines with the Nikko G. You'll find the right one for you!

Love this book! I came across it while browsing in Books A Million a few months ago... spent a few hours going through it when I got home...  ;)
