General How To's & Projects / HELP! Calligraphy Ink for Glass or Ceramic
« on: November 26, 2014, 09:35:50 PM »
A friend requested for me to do custom ornaments for her husband's soldiers and she wants to have calligraphy done with their names.  I've played with several mediums including Sharpie (Oil Based) and I do not like the outcome.  I can't get the fire hairlines without actually using a nib.  The ornaments are just the circular ceramic you can find on any Art Store.  I am at a loss.  Do I just give up and tell her I cannot do it?!  HELP!!!!

Frustrated Calligrapher,

Open Flourish | General Discussion / business cards

Hello Everyone!

I've been MIA in a while as we are in the middle of a very busy month.  We are moving once again (thanks Army)!  I have a question about business cards....  The place we are going next does not have any local calligrapher (Google and searched the area) and I am thinking of pursuing it while we will be at our next duty station for 2 years.  My question is....  where did you all ordered your business cards and did you put your own calligraphy (logo) on it?  Do you frown upon someone who just had a type font on their business card?  Sorry for all of the little questions.  Just been trying to get this going and finally picked a business name.  Thanks for your feedback!

« on: April 08, 2014, 11:06:49 PM »
Just want to pop a quick hello!  My name is Rika and I live in Ft Benning (for now) along side my husband and our Akita named khloebear!  I've been trolling the forum for a couple of days now and so far all of you wonderful folks especially Erika have inspired me to pick up my pen and ink and start to relearn again.  I am thrilled to be a part of this group and excited to learn from each and everyone of you!  I hope that once I get better I can contribute to the wealth of knowledge in the forum as well!

warmly,
Rika
