Tools & Supplies / JW Ergonomic pen holder
« on: March 22, 2021, 02:45:43 AM »
Esteemed members,

I am posting with a question to you all.

Have any of you used or are using the Ergonomic pen holders, discovered and created by Master Penman Jake Weidmann?  The price is extreme for a holder but I always find myself looking at them as one does for a jacket or car they see in a store.

What has your experience been?

Find a Pen Pal / Pen pal??
« on: August 24, 2020, 08:40:18 AM »
Hi all!

I have made the decision that I should write more and what better way than to write to people.  I have been deepening myself in practice but, it seems stagnant without anyone to write to. Knowing that someone, out there in the world, will read what I write, will, no doubt, help my progress.

If you are also wanting a pen pal, please let me know!

Iíll be writing from the United Kingdom so responses overseas will be delayed

Thank you all!

Tools & Supplies / I think it is time.
« on: July 07, 2020, 06:19:25 PM »
I think it is time for us to exercise our power as penmen and force the Manuscript Pen Company to revert the Leonardt Principle back to the late Brian Walkerís design.

The design that he poured years of his life into in order to perfect. We owe it to everyone that wants to get the most from the pointed pen arts to try. They may ignore some of us but they cannot ignore the entirety of us.

The posted link is to their Contact Us page.

Please, take the action needed to make the pointed pen world a greater place to be.

Tools & Supplies / Ornamental penmanship...which nib?
« on: June 27, 2020, 03:33:05 PM »
Itís been a hot minute since Iíve posted in here.

I would like to pose a question: what nibs would you all consider to be the crÍme de la crÍme of nibs for detailed ornamental works?

What I mean by this or ornamental works that are grandiose in their capital shades and size but delicate in their lower case forms and hairlines. I have found that there is no single nib for both. You can have either/or with the Hunt 101 or Leonardt principle but not combined. I have created works of this type before by switching between the nibs but that is extraordinarily tiring.

What are your thoughts and opinions? What are your suggestions?

Tools & Supplies / The Zanerian Fine Writer...
« on: September 28, 2019, 12:23:15 PM »
To you all,

How would this esteemed community feel if the Zanerian Fine Writer nib was reintroduced today using modern materials and methods? Would you purchase it or give it a wide berth? Is such a nib in demand amongst you?
Personally I would relish such a moment, even if it priced equal to the Leonardt Principal.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

Tools & Supplies / Cleaning your nib...cloth Vs paper towel.
« on: September 25, 2019, 04:04:36 PM »
Dear fellow penmen and enthusiasts.

I pose a question to you all. Which, in your humble opinions, cleans a nib better? A linen cloth or a heavy duty player towel? I shall expand on what I mean by better: to clean the nib without releasing artifacts that may clog or throw the nib off.

Thank you all.

Tools & Supplies / Acidic, wood-pulp paper.
« on: September 11, 2019, 01:25:50 AM »
Dear members and guests,

I would like to post questions of wood-pulp paper. Is it still available? Where would you get it?

Although modern paper is superb in versatility, I would love to write on the paper that was used by past masters in penmanship.

Does anyone know any answer to my posed questions?
