What a lovely article, it saddens me that emails and technology have taken over, I sound really old saying that ha ha.
I an not old, but do love hand written letters, I miss them, while technology is great, I do wish certain things remained the same  :)

What a great article.  Thank you for sharing.  I have kept all the love notes my husband wrote me while we were dating.   Every now and again, I like to re-read them and they take me back to those moments in time.   I have all the love emails (that doesn't even sound right) that he sent too, but they aren't the same as having paper in hand and in his hand.

I agree with you, @Tales from the Nib... but, thanks to technology and Google maps street view, I went and checked out the house that Marilyn Monroe was living/staying at- very charming.

Long live paper and ink!

Hi @Estefa,
What a lovely thread and beautiful article. I never wrote or got any love letters, but I remember those days when I used to make and send Birthday cards. It was so much fun. Now again after so many years because of this Forum I have started writing and posting envelopes.

I was lucky to retain a love letter from my grandfather to my grandmother  in which he asks her to meet him for the evening as he has something very important to ask her..... it is such a beautiful and innocent  piece of manuscript. The english is a bit broken but the sentiment is all the same. He was from Poland.
