Hello from California

Hi.  I'm Susan from California.  I've been taking classes in copperplate and modern calligraphy now for almost a year.  I really enjoy it.  I find it very relaxing.  I'm also totally hooked on seeing other people's work on Instagram.

I'm trying to decide what my next steps will be.  Do I want to pursue this as a side profession?  Do I want that pressure of meeting deadlines and other's expectations?  Will it ruin the enjoyment I get from this?

So I'm on this forum to soak it all in, to learn more about this skill from others.

Hi! Love the Padres (I went to school in San Diego for a year and a half. Loved it!)

I have to say while I enjoyed the challenge of new clients, doing calligraphy as a job did take away a bit of the pleasure for me. These days I am enjoying just learning and working on improving different styles for fun.
