I don't do spiders!!! My friend just got back from visiting Australia for business and when I asked to see pictures, half of her photos were of ginormous creepy bugs!!  I was like, how do people live there? She said they're not sissies about bugs like Americans.  :) on a side note, she brought back kangaroo, crocodile, and ostrich jerky. My curiosity forced me to try them all. I wish I hadn't been so curious!! :o

Ok, you just squashed the Australia dream of mine.  I don't do well with anything that has more than 4 legs.
As for the jerkies... um, hail no.

Good Lord--I'd shudder to see it fall out of my towel!  I'm not afraid of spiders but those are nothing to mess around with.  Yikes.

Oh, how I laughed, Prasad.  So funny.

Ah, that's so funny, Prasad ! Reminds of the time I (accidentally) stabbed a fly with my pen... But seriously, I wonder how the British settlers managed to survive in Australia ?!
I'm so glad to live in a land where spiders (and other creatures) are not deadly...

I wonder sometimes! But then I also wonder how they managed to survive in lands where you might die of cold if you sleep outside in winter, or where the animals that kill you are bigger than you are and have teeth and claws. I guess humans are just persistent!

Human are indeed persistent ! Adapt and adapt and keep on adapting.

I don't have a problem with spiders per se, JUST IF THEY CAN KILL OR CRIPPLE YOU!
RUN! RUN! RUUUUUUN!!!!

PS: Do you know this one? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoB8t0B4jx4

What a prank, but well set up. I even watch the other videos they made.
Thank you for sharing !

There was an episode of Peppa Pig, I think, that was banned from broadcast in Australia.  Not considered suitable for Australian children ... because the message of the episode was that spiders aren't scary.

That is wrong.  Spiders are scary.  We teach our kids not to mess with them!

haha. I am sorry for giving people nightmares.  If it's any consolation I'll maybe be having one or two of my own ... I'm glad my sister lives far away!

Ha ha, I've watched enough Peppa Pig with my kids to know exactly which episode you are referring to!  ;D

I really thought this thread would be about a nib that somehow was stuck to a towel.
I can deal with bugs except spiders!!!!  They are so fast and I hate that they have 8 legs because 8 has always been my favorite number....ok I am a weirdo with a bit of OCD.

Still hate spiders - please be careful, Moya  :)
 Cheers to all, Michael

Don't worry, I'm always careful :D It's not paranoia to be afraid of spiders in this country, it's just common sense.

I keep imagining something is crawling on me ...

I guess the next round of letters I send out will have to have these stamps on them! http://shop.auspost.com.au/stamp-coin-collectables/stamp-issues/scm-2014-things-that-sting

LOL! Me, too! I don't know why but for some reason I thought it was going to be a nib or a pen holder (which now makes no perfect sense). I was wholly unprepared for that picture!  ;D

At our old house we had black widows on the lanai and brown recluse on the garbage cans. They just kept coming back. Then there were the eastern diamond back rattlesnakes, the bobcats, and oh, the black scorpion in our bathroom. I guess Florida is almost as bad as Australia!  ;D

Perhaps it's a trade off for the 6+ feet of snow they've had back in our hometown this year!  ;D

When I'm really scared of something I can't move, and things start to slow down for me.  I seriously think I would pass out!
