I don't know much foundational... but if you need some inspiration - http://imgur.com/a/F8sVk

Don't wait to be done with those 10,000 hours, I have found the journey is the most wonderful part :)

Welcome Davina!

Want to hear something crazy? My name is Devina - but its pronounced the same as your name (probably).

Mind blown, calligraphy must be in the blood of all Devina/Davina's!

As a person who currently uses a cute inkwell rather than a funtional inkwell with a cover - this happens all the time.

But in the brightside! Its a bunny :)

Everyone looks so excited at IAMPETH! I am definitely signing up for IAMPETH 2016.

I was way too noobish to sign up last year - but next year I might be half-way decent :D

Thank you so much for creating this thread Erica, I will be creating a family tree for my parent's 25th wedding anniversary that is coming up. I got the idea from the 'Using Calligraphy: Layout & Design Ideas' book. They have a really nice family tree in there, but I really wanted to do one in watercolor :)

When you dig through "vintage" sh*t and second and stores to see if you can use something for your calligraphy workstation. Or, when you go to chinatown to get chopstick holders... for nib holders...

I have been working on mostly copperplate calligraphy recently, but I used to do a lot of broad edge - @theulzo

Pre-Ordered :) Thanks!

I also use Universal Penman, and that's fantatic study material.

I have been part of the /r/calligraphy community for quite a while, but I figure I am good enough to join you all here now. I am also part of the CCC and a webmaster for their site. I support my calligraphy habbit by working as an Information Security Engineer at a tech company in Chicago.

I am partial to broad edge calligraphy, but I am taking a class with Tim Botts right now learning pointed pen.
Some samplings of my work: http://imgur.com/Rwe83vJ, http://imgur.com/c3mjN1r, http://imgur.com/MPI2mkL

I am friends with Eileen and Mary from the CCC if they are around :D
