I always enjoy your work Ken, but particularly the English Roundhand. Another example to add to my reference folder. Thank you for sharing this.

Hmm...what is it about the 'Pomegranate Fruit on a Branch with Leaves and Flowers' version? This is just too funny!

I was looking through the Farmers Almanac and saw an advertisement for Biffy Bags. What will they think of next  ;D

I looked at conventional ink wells, but settled on the small and jumbo 'Dinky Dips'. I use the jumbo at home and take a couple of small ones when I go to the woods.

There are so many beautiful wood blocks out there and I settled on a pecan holder that holds four small dinky dips and has a built in pen rest.

I love seeing stories like this. You will be able to attach this story to the pen and hopefully pass it forward to future generations.

I am glad someone suggested Mr. Yoke. Not only is he a master artisan of pen making, and restoration, but he values the history of these pens and cares about the customer/owner.

A very nice sharing and a joy to read.

Thank you for posting this list Ellen. It is a good resource and nice to find so many guilds still out there and active (at least most appear to still be active).

Thank you for providing this link. Patricia does a lovely job providing the textual and photographic details around this process.

I have dabbled a little using colored pencils, but the process Patricia shows results in such beautiful work of the true Medieval Illumination. What a nice article to peruse on a rainy Saturday afternoon  :)

What an interesting document. I also read that if a royal was one of the first six in line of succession, they had to get this consent. Amazing what traditions we humans come up with.

Thank you for sharing this Erica.
