magnifier lamp
« on: April 08, 2014, 11:05:42 PM »
does anyone use a magnifier lamp?  i'm thinking i want to get one so i can really really see what i am doing, but am wondering if this puts strain on your eyes or if it becomes kinda like a crutch.
or maybe i just need some sleep... :-\

I saw a picture of a white house calligrapher using one, i wondered about it to. But the older I get the more blind I become. Pretty soon I will have to use sonar like a bat.

LOL Brad - you are on a roll!  :)

Joi - I've thought of that, too. So far I have resisted but I am only now getting to the point where I have to take my (long distance) glasses off to read things close up. When I start holding them at arm's reach, I'll give in to the headgear magnifying glass!  ;D

I have one and love it. I purchased a fluorescent arm lamp, like below and bought a 6.5k Full Spectrum Bulb for it. So when not using it as a magnifier, I use it as a desk lamp for the Ottlite Experience at 1/3 the price

When you get older, like me, you take any help you can get.
I learned the less strain on my eyes working on fine stuff, the less my head hurts.
I have several different magnifiers that I've used.  I have one on a goose-neck that I can take anyplace (but no light).  The clamp on one (with the light) restricted where I could use it to a desk/table where I could clamp it on.
