I used to post everything under @pittipatipot but lately I created another one just for calligraphy and watercolor posts @calligramommy

I love browsing thru Instagram because it gives me that push when I'm feeling lazy.  Now I need to get to work in adding up your IG addresses :-D

Copperplate Tutorial by SMK / Re: Copperplate Minuscules - Group 2

These are sooo helpful!  I've been on and off in studying coppy - mostly because I tend to go back to square one after skipping practices continuously (which is often).

Thank you sooo much for sharing these!

I feel like I am working on everything! Hahaha - lets, see... I need to work on consistency, the slants and those darned ovals.  I find my hand/arm a bit shaky which I guess would mean that I need to do warm ups first?

Congratulations!  Looking forward to seeing your work as well as to hearing about your takeaways from the class  :)

So that would mean we will just eliminate the lead in stroke of the f and start with the upper loop? (is that what you call it?)

#LearningSoMuch

Thank you! But I should tell you, rather than make you wait in suspense, you would go off the letter to the f. So in this example, the o would come off the top right like it normally would and then go to the top loop.  :)

Although I'm a newbie, I'm thinking maybe there's too much ink on the nib.  I sometimes let the nib touch the edge of the bottle just to get out the excess ink.  I've also been reading about problems with the Hiro 41 nib, would that be by any chance the nib that you are using too?

Oooops, photo needs to be rotated.  Sorry about that.

I tried taking a photo of how I held my oblique as soon as I got to the office.  Could someone let me know if I'm doing it right?

Welcome to the group Joep!  As you stay in the forum longer, you will definitely learn so much that you will have a hard time staying as a lurker.  :-D  Enjoy!

Ive been placing dates on each of them together with notes on the nib, ink and holder that I used. For now, there all in one plastic folder so that I can keep track of my progress as time goes by.
