Just signed up and I'm excited! I think I'll do this one inspired by where I'm from (Louisiana) instead of where I'm living currently. I have so many ideas! Maybe a cajun recipe card?  ::) We'll see!

List 8 - All your envelopes went out the 30th... So curious to know how long it will take them to reach you
Sarah K. I realized too late that I misspelled your last name. I'm so sorry about that :s

I hope you all like it!

No problem Sarah, I know it's a unique last name haha. When I first got married I had trouble spelling it as well! And I love your quote! I'm originally from Louisiana and Le Petit Prince was mandatory reading for our immersion classes.

List 8- So far I've received letters from Malinda, Raaynuh, Sarah A, Samster, and Freida. I'm so inspired by all of your penmanship and creativity! And your quotes are awesome, can't wait to add them to my exchange scrapbook I started recently!  :)

Love this thread, such a fun question!

I love the name Lilou (pronounced leeloo), and I also think Viola is a beautiful name, to say and to write.  :)

Thanks for your opinions everyone, I appreciate it. I'll definitely be adding the bleedproof white to my ever expanding wish list.  :) Can't wait to experiment with it  :)

So I keep reading about Dr. Martin's bleedproof white ink and I'm considering purchasing some soon to experiment with. But I was wondering what the difference was between the ink and using white gouache (which I already own and love)? So for those of you who have used both, which one do you prefer to work with? Thanks guys, I'm looking forward to your insights  :)

I wish I had found this video before I tried mixing gouache for the first time. I made the mistake of using tap water, and then a bunch of mold grew in it, gross! Thanks to your video I learned to use the distilled water and I'm having much better luck now, thanks!

I'm taking her online workshop through Creative Bug right now. I find that even through a video she's a fantastic teacher. i hope to take an actual class in person with her some day!  :)

What a great illustration! I never seem to be able to remove all of the oil from my nib and I was about to start a thread about it. Then I found this, yay! So helpful!  :) I had been trying the tooth paste method to no avail, so I'll attempt using a flame and hopefully I won't harm the nib too terribly.  :o Wish me luck!

I've tried grid practice pads, Borden and Riley, Fabriano, and Rhodia so far. My favorite was the Rhodia, the first time I used it I fell in love, SO smooth! But I'll probably order some HP soon and give that a try since I'm burning through paper like crazy!  :)
