Been gone for a while. So sorry! Hope your holidays were as happy as mine. Just want to share that I am now staying in Santa Clarita CA, and would love to meet the lovely calligraphers of California. I just dunno how to start connecting. Any tips?

Hello everyone!
My name is Francesca, and I am from the Philippines.
I am a banker by day and also a freelance hair and make up artist on the side. Singing is my first love, and arts and crafts have been my vitamins for the soul.
My love for lettering, stamps, and card design dates back in the 90's when I have joined a school which was very supportive of the love of art and music; good penmanship meant "keep it up" stamps on our notebooks and free candies in classes! Most girls in our school would do d-i-y cards, origami, stationaries, and organiser refills and would trade these in between classes and lunch breaks. Back then, I also remember myself picking up bird feathers on the streets, dipping it on paint.
Two years ago, I have heard that calligraphy workshops were being held in Manila, but were always full. So I bought myself my own starter kit instead, but never really understood how to use it. Just this year, I joined my very first basic workshop, and am happy to say that through this, I have learned a lot, rekindled my love for writing, and (secretly) confirmed that dip pens are different from random bird feathers scattered on the streets (haha).
I am so happy to see this calligraphy goldmine, and am thrilled to learn more. Thank you, Erica!
