Some Pen Play
« on: January 11, 2022, 04:30:06 PM »
There is no doubt that offhand flourishing is tough but at the moment it is my happy place to study, practice and learn.

This is Canson marker paper, walnut ink and a Leonardt Principal EF nib.

Absolutely beautiful! I’m curious, are you using a regular pen hold or have you adapted the off-hand method of the masters?  :)

Thank you Erica. This was done with an oblique holder and a standard hold. There was much turning of the paper  :)

That is how I do it as well. I am going to try to learn the other pen hold technique this year.

This is lovely!! Trying to learn the other pen hold is definitely worth it. The flourishes will 'fly' off the page more easily and in a larger 'comfort' range (less page turning) :)

Very nicely done. Totally missed the bird until I backed of my view. Colors work well together.
