Hi Flourish Friends,
Just wanted to let you know, my family and I are evacuating Florida tomorrow. Assuming our house is OK and things are still here, we will be returning on Monday. All approvals for new members and posts may be delayed. Thank you for your understanding.
I also wanted to take a minute to say we are thinking of our Texas members as they recover from Hurricane Harvey. And to all of our Florida members who may be in Irma's path, we wish you good luck and Godspeed.
Love,
Erica

Sending virtual hugs and wishes for safe travels to you and yours, Erica, and to all forum members who have been affected by crazy weather of late.
-
Indeed. Stay safe. Hoping Irma will turn back out to sea.
-
Good luck, Erica, I will be thinking of you and hoping for the best.
-
Stay safe!! And good luck to all of you affected by those hurricanes! I can't even imagine how difficult that must be!
-
God bless you, Erica! Stay safe!
Texas is still reeling from Harvey! My church was taking a trailer full of supplies down to the Houston area on Monday. They wanted dust masks, rubber gloves, bleach, mosquito spray, & sponges. My town was basically sold out of all-of-the-above, as every church in town was trying to do the same! We are 12 hours away from the devastation, but everyone is trying to help! We all need to pull together when disaster strikes!
Safe travels!!

Good luck and stay safe. I think you're doing the right thing. I'm keeping an eye out even though the odds of it reaching us in the Carolinas seems to be receding. But anything can happen.
Keep safe everyone.

Stay safe, Erica. Keep your family close and we pray this storm will lessen before it gets to Florida.

I am glad to see you are leaving early. I lived in Key Largo for a while so I know how hard this can be.
Sending you and yours positive thoughts for a safe journey away from home and when returning home. All my best.

Warm (and dry!) wishes for a safe return home! I had a few friends with flooded houses in Houston-- it's super weird to see someone standing waist deep in water in their kitchen. I sincerely hope you don't have anything like that when you get back, but if you do let us know how we can help.
-
Well Erica, here's hoping you made out as well as we did here.
No power, no phone, no internet, but no one hurt and only minor tree damage.
And you don't need electricity to make martinis.

Thank you everyone for all of your warm well wishes and prayers. I am very fortunate to report our house is fine. My parents' house had minor roof damage and leaking which can be repaired. We feel so lucky. I am so sorry to hear about your friends @Briana and about your damage @AnasaziWrites and I hope things are back to normal in short order.
This has been the longest week of my life and I will be very grateful when it's all over. My heart is broken for all of those who weren't so fortunate and are dealing with life changing issues.

@Erica McPhee
Good to hear.
Are you back in your house now? Any problems getting there? We have had huge traffic snarls on US75 heading south out of Atlanta. Everyone wants to get back.
-
No. We are waiting until Friday to try to drive back. My brother and his family are staying at our house because they are without power. We're hoping things won't be as bad by Friday. ???
-
I am so very glad that both your and your parents' homes are only minorly affected Erica. best wishes for getting home and getting back to normal life as soon as possible x
Thinking of those amongst you who have suffered badly with this and other disasters - both natural and not. We are lucky here in the UK that the weather is rarely so frightening, and never for most of us.
Love to all
