As another aside, I would bet that Jackson would be very proud of what Ken has done with his book. It's every teacher's hope to help someone to become even more skillful than himself, and Ken's skill in Copperplate has well surpassed that of Jackson. I know because I have an original example of Jackson's hand. Well done, Ken.

Thank you for your kind comments.  :)

Thanks also, for posting the comparisons.

Ken

Thank you Mike,
I agree — I like Jackson's versions better as well.  :)

I was looking to buy a book here in India for myself as I wanted something moret han the online guides and books I was using and this thread was a wonderful resource. The comparison of the lettering based on the two books was just the thing I needed.

Thank you!

I managed to get a 2nd hand copy of this recently- shipped to the UK for less than a new copy as I could not wait until next year on Amazon to purchase this and I am glad that I did.
I started with the Eleanor Winters, but became distracted with this book. Dick Jackson's "Copperplate Calligraphy" maybe less pages but it works for me and I remain focused.

Just a footnote to mention that this book is now easily available through Amazon.

Great to see the newly-available reprint of this excellent book. It's a concise fairly slim book with no extraneous padding unlike some I could mention. It comes straight to the point with clear instructions.
For those nor familiar with it, I'd like to mention the small but lively "The Copperplate Special Interest Group". Based in England, it has an international membership and is well worth a look on the net.

Thank you Ken.  I'm just starting to learn Copperplate, but I will check out the "The Copperplate Special Interest Group."

Still use your excellent book "Italic Varants" as my go-to reference for Italic.  I reorganized my office recently and once I find where I put your Calligarphy DVD, I'll have another great reference for Copperplate.  Thank you again!

There was a reasonable amount of interest in both of my books and my DVD
but as they were produced by myself by hand, I eventually realised that they were not a practical enterprise as they took too long to assemble. As a result I abandoned production a couple of years ago.
I am glad that you found them of use, and you are now in possession of a very limited edition!

Thank you very much for the heads up.
I have, 10 minutes ago, ordered the book from Amazon for just shy of £10.00, and it'll be here tomorrow.
