there's also a specific calligraphy book that i'm looking for which is called - "Modern Calligraphy by Molly Suber Thorpe" OR if you have any other similar books to recommend, do share!

Hi Renee,

From overjoyed.com.sg you can get some nibs, sumi inks and rhodia dot pads. They have a big range of starter kit, just need to choose which type of calligraphy you after: http://www.overjoyed.com.sg/catalogsearch/result/?q=nib+holder

You can also get some from

Hi Renee,

It looks like you're interested in modern calligraphy in the style of Molly Suber Thorpe. You can use a straight holder and a Nikko G or Zebra G nib for that. Both of these can be purchased from Art Friend, Overjoyed or Straits Art. These are sufficient to start off with. If you're keen on getting more nibs, then Overjoyed and Straits Art will have more for you to choose from.

For black ink, go for sumi ink or if a greyish tone is alright with you, try Higgins Eternal. Personally I much prefer walnut ink.

Paper-wise, I like Rhodia. A cheaper alternative would be Double AA A4 paper or PaperOne A4 paper (the one in a maroon pack).

I saw Molly's book on sale at Overjoyed. Kino prob carries it as well.
