oooh, Spencerian is going to be one of my goals - but maybe not for this year.  I really want to take a class in it rather than trying to learn it alone; my copperplate is still suffering from my attempts at learning alone!  Let us know how you go

Well, I promised a picture, so now that I almost have everything in order - a picture!  Just one.

I live in a very little apartment in the middle of a city, so I don't have a lot of space.  Luckily, what space I do have, I am in sole control of.  Here is my lovely bedroom window workspace!



It was previously two desks, with no storage - so everything that is in those tall cupboards was stacked up on top of a desk, and it looked like a constant disaster zone.  Now everything is tucked away and I have so much more room to move!

And my very favourite part is that I bought a little glass laptop table that can slip out from under the desk, and a clip-on lamp to stick under it:  ta-daaa, lightbox!  It is not perfect, but it's much better than nothing.

Fantastic!

I use my ipad in a pinch, but it's very small.  Otherwise, not being able to afford a 'proper' lightbox, I have a glass IKEA laptop stand (http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/80250250/) and a lamp that can be placed on the floor - it's not ideal, but it does the job.

I'll be on the lookout for old monitors, though!

Goals!

- Finish my final semester of the calligraphy course I'm doing;
- Design my sister's wedding invitations / stationery;
- Practice for at least fifteen minutes every day (but more on the weekends!)
- Take at least one workshop in a style I'm not familiar with, so that I can fall in love with something new.

If I post them, that means I actually have to do them, right?  (And check back in in twelve - well, okay, eight now - months!)

This topic is inspirational!  (And I love how similar our spaces all look, too - all different, some absolutely stunning, but there's a lot of green cutting mats, IKEA shelving, scattered pens ...)

I'm rehauling mine over this coming long weekend - I'm excited to post photos, too.  It's really just a desk in my bedroom, because I'm very limited for space, but you've all really inspired me.  (And I didn't know about EKBY shelves - but now I crave one!)
