Christmas/Holiday presents
« on: December 27, 2014, 10:26:37 PM »
I did not see a Christmas present thread, so I figure I would start one.

My wife gave me a "Daylight" light box (really a pad about 3/8 inch thick).   :)
She must have been reading my mind as I was really thinking about getting something easier to use than my current 4 inch thick light box.
Now I can use and see the guide sheets under my 32# paper.

This is fun!

I must have been really good this year because hubs gave me a Huion L4S Lightpad, and little bro gave me an Epson Perfection V370 Photo Scanner!

…and I got myself some gouache and nibs.  ;D
All my best -- Elizabeth O.

I received Vol 1 & 2 of Dasherie and margin to play and practice. Wonderful!

Scarlet Blue, I am delighted for you about the typewriter. My son brought a good laugh home from college. A guy in his dorm produced a Youtube video called 'Pass the Salt'. It may enhance your enjoyment of the typewriter.  :)

Blessings everyone!

A typewriter...how cool.
I presume you mean an old manual one.
Which brand/model?

My husband and I don't exchange anymore because we have everything we need and if we want something, we usually buy it! I told my parents and my brother we shouldn't exchange this year because we spend too much money on stuff we don't need! So this was the first year I didn't get a single gift! I consider that an accomplishment of sorts.  ;D But it's all good because my mail box was FULL UP with gorgeous calligraphy cards and they are my treasures.  ;D

I made everyone in my entire family personalized Christmas ornaments. Thirty-six of them!  ;D

I can relate to this line so much.
My wife gets frustrated with me, because I will go and get what I want.  So there is very little for her to get to surprise me.  Several times I told her I was going to get something, and she then told me not to, because she already did or was going to get it.  Or I will get something that she planed to get for me.  She had to chase me out of the art supply store, in case I decided to buy the light box myself.  Now I know why   ;)

Oh... my Typewriter is a German Privileg 300T.... I had a strange brain paralysis when I realised I couldn't change the font size! It's totally manual and it makes a splendid industrious sound when I hit the keys. It's even slower than calligraphy!

I celebrated My birthday one month ago and I received a calligraphy set branded Fabriano Boutique which I adore!
My husband chose as Xmas present for me a calligraphy workshop I am attending in January in order to improve a little bit
He definitely understood I like calligraphy ... Maybe beacause of letters and cards I have been receiving for some months?!?!?

Great topic! I got my first Rhodia pad which I'm a little scared to use, a bunch of wax seal stamps and wax, and a lamp to go under my birthday desk.  :)
