Count that day lost
« on: March 09, 2020, 05:44:54 PM »
This is a quote (often misattributed to Longfellow) that Madarasz was said to have written thousands of times in practice. I was pretty sure it was on the forum somewhere, but I couldn't find it, so wrote it out just for fun. This is the place on the forum to show and do practise, so why not have a go at it?

@AnasaziWrites It would be nice to also see the pen, ink and type of paper you used to produce this awesome piece.

Here's my first attempt (Hunt 97, Diamine Gold, HP Copy paper)

Second attempt (same pen, same paper, Parker Quink red)

@InkyFingers
So sorry to have missed your question at the time you posed it.
The paper is Staples 32 lb. Laser copy paper. Very smooth. I use it for all my practice work. HP makes a similar paper.
Ink is McCaffery's Penman's Black
The nib is a Gillott 604ef
The pen holder is probably the black one. All three are Chris Yoke pen holders, and all three have G604ef nibs. The top two I use with iron gall inks. The bottom one (white) I save for colored inks.
