Just wanted to say that List 1 envelopes were sent out yesterday (Dec. 13th). I hope they reach in time. This is my second round at the envelope exchange and I am thoroughly enjoying them. Thank you @Erica McPhee for all the work you put into organizing these exchanges!

Hi Teresa,

Welcome! I'm pretty new here myself  I started learning calligraphy earlier this year too, and opted to stick with copperplate to build on a proper foundation as well.

Well hello fellow lefty from Toronto! Instagram is great for seeing work examples, but this forum is the best for conversations about all things involving using a tool to put ink to paper. The people here are kindhearted and a fountain of knowledge and friendship. Welcome!

      Thanks for your friendly welcome msg. Always glad to make new calligraphy friends, and local is a great bonus   I just saw your instagram and your work looks amazing! And you are absolutely right, instagram was what inspired me to take up calligraphy but this forum is a blessing.

I'm glad to hear you are already finding community. From what I see on Instagram it looks like Toronto has quite the lettering community.

       Yes, I agree the lettering and calligraphy community in Toronto is growing and I am glad for it. I have had the pleasure of learning from Salman Khattak and I have met Priyanka. They have started a Toronto Calligraphy meet up group which has been fun to be able to attend.

Hello,

       My name is Carollynn, a lefty and I am from Toronto   I started learning engrosser's script this past Feb. 2017 and would love to learn other forms in the future. I have my eye on Spencerian next! I am so happy and excited about having discovered this forum; instagram has been helpful but I truly think I will learn quite a lot here! It's amazing how supportive everyone in the calligraphy community has been.
