Was the ink wet when you photographed it or is it a glossy ink that was dry? Did you lift the pen over the shades when drawing the hairlines? Looks like that may be a Paper & Inks adjustable flange holder.

Mike,
I photographed the strokes immediately to show the reflections and I used Parker Quink Ink with Gum Arabic. I can't remember where I got the penholder from. It was some years ago. I wrote this continuously with no break between shaded and hairline strokes.
