Copperplate, Engrosser's Script, Roundhand Calligraphy / Writing Copperplate on a large Paper

Hi! Everyone~
I would like to ask how you write copperplate on a large paper? I am writing on a 18" x 24" watercolour pad, but I found it is difficult to write when the pad is tilted. The corner of the pad keeps stabbing my chest. My arm and my sight cannot reach the right position,. If I tear it out from the pad, I have to bend the paper, and of course this will crumple my paper. Is there any solution? Thanks~
