Question about Pilot parallel pens - please advice
« on: February 13, 2015, 12:42:54 AM »
HI all,
Please advice.  I was going through the Pilot parallel pens on PIA and I noticed something.

They have the (new size) 1mm, 2mm and 3mm at $13.35 each and the older 1.5,2.4 and 3.8mm at $9.25.

Does anyone know the difference in use between these two variants?  Are the new ones only more expensive because of the new sizes?  Or is there any change in the functionality too?

Thanks
-Prasad

Hi Prasad,

From my understanding, the 'new' sizes are not from Pilot - there is someone (at PIA?) who grinds them down to size.  So what you get is the 6mm ground down to 4.5mm, or the 3.8 ground down to 3.0.  It is the extra work that makes it expensive, I think.)

(Please someone correct me if I am wrong!)

Thanks Moya and Lyndsay :)

Was going to order the pens,  but wanted this clarified first.  I wasn't sure if PIA would give me the reason,  But who needs them when I have you guys ;D
