Thank you very much, however I have a question: so there's the x height, which is where I write the letters, but what are the dashed and dotted lines for? As in, do I make the top of my d's and t's touch the dashed line or the dotted line?

Sorry if this is such an obvious question. I have never used a guideline before, so this is new for me  :)

The other lines are for ascenders and descenders like d's, t's, g's, p's, etc. Take a look at my example for double letters here to give you an idea: Double Letters thread.
