Looking for ideas and suggestions for a simple calligraphic piece for newlyweds--wording, colors, design.  My skills are limited but might be able to add some simple flowers and flourishes.

I am working with a wedding packet that does not include an inner envelope.  The outer envelope is 5 1/2" x 8".  Since using "and family" is not acceptable what if the exact names or correct spelling of a child's name is not known, what would be the acceptable way to indicate the children are invited?  Also, listing 4 children's names on a not very large envelope may be a challenge.  Any suggestions appreciated.

Open Flourish | General Discussion / Walnut Ink

A friend is considering using walnut ink for her wedding invitations.  Any recommendations as to which is the best type to use--crystals or pre-mixed, any additives?  What color envelopes would be best--white or cream/ecru colored envelopes with the walnut ink?  Would using an embosser for the return address on the back flap be acceptable?

I saw a reference to "Teacher's Lounge" in a post and that in order to have access participants would need to be Flourish Forum members--or something to that effect.  I cannot find the Teacher's Lounge--can someone help?  Thanks.

Tools & Supplies / Writing on a round base
« on: September 11, 2015, 08:37:36 PM »
I have a job to write a couple's name and wedding date on a honed ceramic piece.  It is a music box on a round base and the writing will need to be written on the curve of the base.  I will somehow need to steady the base so it does not move while I am writing yet move enough to go from one side of the base to the other end and at the same time steady my hand since the writing surface is only 1"  Any suggestions for achieving this would be appreciated.  I will need to write in black.  Any suggestions for the type of ink I should use.  There is only a very small area on the bottom of the piece to test the ink.

Open Flourish | General Discussion / "Sloop" exemplar
« on: October 28, 2014, 04:50:11 PM »
Can anyone suggest a hand that would be similar to the "Sloop" font and where one could find an exemplar for it. A printout of all the upper and lower case letters is readily available, but I need some help with how to make them.

:)I would like for my local office supply store to print some overheads for various size envelopes--one overhead would have guidelines and another slant lines--or they both could be on one sheet.  I could  ask them to make an overhead from a paper copy I have but the overhead would have the paper showing in the background.  I prefer to have a clear background that would be easier to see behind an envelope using a light box.  I have seen the clear ones so it must be doable.  How would one accomplish this?  Thanks.
