Boogie Board Calligraphy
« on: July 20, 2019, 12:21:41 PM »
This is my new favorite thing! I just bought this Boogie Board and have been practicing calligraphy on it nonstop. It's so cool and will save so much paper and ink. You can even use a calligraphy pen on it! I made a YouTube review so you can see how it works.

It has already improved my whole arm movement calligraphy and flourishing! You can see the one I bought at my amazon affiliate link .

Anyone else having fun with one of these?  ;D

This looks great !! I have just ordered one, if nothing else it will be good for my 3 year old son to doodle on and he's holding a pen well now and tracing letters and numbers. This should be much better than his etcho scetch ;D

Erica

What type of nib did you use and did it scratch the surface of the board at all?

Thanks for sharing this device. My little early Christmas present to myself  ;)

I used a Zebra G and it did not scratch it at all. I think over time, it may wear in some scratches but I still can’t see any.

I ordered another one called Free Felt. I like that one even better. It’s a bit bigger and has a finer line.  ;D

@Erica McPhee :  I'm not finding a "Free Felt" Boogie Board online.  Where did you get it??

I hope that you are safe & sound in FL with this crazy hurricane!!

Fondly,

Janis

Hi Erica - I'll try a nib when I get mine. I also like the looks and reviews for the 'FreeFelt LCD' tablet.

I hope you and yours are safe. Keeping you all in my thoughts.

I was just looking for the Boogie Board in Canada, its a little more expensive here. Apparently, Walmart doesn't sell the Jot 8.5, but they do have one called  Blackboard that is 8.5x11 and comes with grid and line templates.

Has anyone seen this and maybe tried it with a pointed pen? I am assuming its the same technology, so should act the same, but I thought I might check here first.

Do be to panicky Erica. That’s Canadian dollars.

The cheapest I found the 8.5 was $40, and the executive 8.5 is $65.

Woohoo

Look what I just found at Staples in Canada

Boogie Board Blackboard 8-1/2x11
$49.99 CAD plus $19.99 for the folio cover.

It comes with two inserts giving Lines, Dots, ToDo list and Blank. The inserts are a simple slip in sheet. I am hoping to make some with guidelines, after our trip. It’s hard to get the thins, but I am hoping that it will help me develop a light touch.

Now there’s no excuse for not practicing. This will be great on my flight to Germany tomorrow.
