When you want to quote something, click on the "Quote" button in the upper right corner. The white comment box will come up and it will look like this:

BRACKET quote author=Erica McPhee link=topic=3772.msg50595#msg50595 date=1445996537 END BRACKET
This is the sentence I want to quote.
BRACKET /quote END BRACKET

The BRACKET is an actual [ ]. Then it tells who the quote author is, the link to the topic, and which message it is within the topic, and finally the date.

Usually anything you want to do is within the brackets.

[command]
this is the text you want quoted...website you want linked...image you want showing, etc.
[/command]

This gives the formatting direction (coding). Whatever is between those two commands shows up.  :)

To make a nice link and use a word or series of words instead of just the URL, you can do this:

BRACKET url = http://www.theflourishforum.com END BRACKET Whatever words you want to click on /url END BRACKET
