It was super busy, but it was fun.
There is even another small show beginning to grow in Montreal. It’s going to be in the spring and is called Scriven.
I’ll post up details as it solidifies.

Good morning Erica

Sorry for the delay. The show was great. I was busy going non-stop from start to finish. I‘ve heard, and I really hope, that next year it will be a larger venue and maybe two days. Fingers crossed.
I,m not very good at getting pictures. And unfortunately (or fortunately), being so busy, I never had a chance to even think of taking any pictures.
This is a picture of my banner, at home when I received it, before the show. (I’m not sure if I uploaded them correctly)

And this is one that a friend took durning the show.

That is very special. I will give that podcast a check, having spent my formative years in the 70‘s.

I listen to podcasts while I walk my Sadie girl. I have a little bit of an eclectic listening list. Half of them are Canadian.

Thats is beautiful Ken.

And it holds a special spot in my heart, being my clan name.
I would love to know where one could acquire a bottle of these fine spirits, in Canada.

That is a fabulous story for your son to carry with him.

That’s a great website. I always like to hear that someone is repairing and restoring the vintage pens. I can only hope that in 75 years, someone thinks enough of one of my pens to send it to a master such as yourself for restoration.

I love the gradient, and the extra letter just makes it more memorable. I’ll bet many people wouldn‘t have even noticed.

The total eclipse is the first here in over a hundred years. It will be happening for us between 15:23 and 15:26 ET.

Tools & Supplies / Re: Unused older nib

Hi @AAAndrew - I routinely subject my sprung Leonardt Principals to a hot flame for 10-15 seconds followed immediately with a douse in cold water. This seems to toughen the tines and help the sprung problem; the weakened tines making a clicking sound and crossing over one another.

Is there any science to back this up, tempering or such?

I don't fully understand the science myself. But I believe, because of the small size of the nib, a butane (BIC) lighter is hot enough to temper steel.

This is a fabulous idea Ken. I am only at the beginnings of my search. But writing like this might actually be a great way to keep the names in my head.

Wow It looks like a paradise .
Hope you had a great time !!

It was a great show. There was a crazy amount of people, from beginning to end. I never got a chance to actually walk the show.

There was seemed to be quite a bit of calligraphy interest as well. Unfortunately, the past year I have been focusing on my new fountain pen model so I only had a couple of pen holders and dinky dip trays available. This winter I plan to make some holders out of my custom mixed materials.
