I just wanted to share what many of my pieces have evolved into... namely, quotes or lyrics with watercolor illustration. It's been so much fun because I really get a chance to talk to the client and see what is personally important to them, what words/symbols are special, etc. I feel like each piece really has a story.
For example, this e.e. cummings poem was a gift for an aunt. The word "Yes" in the last line of the first stanza had significant meaning in it, and we even hid a meaningful date in the floral garland!
This one is for a friend who sings "Let's Go Fly a Kite" to her little boy every night before she puts him down.
This last one I'll share is for a girl who was actually diagnosed with cancer while pregnant; she came through everything and her friend wanted to give her a gift celebrating her strength and hope (shown with the nursery that was an inspiration):
