Interestingly, I am able to read this (after a little thought) without looking at link. I suspect a former enthusiasm for code-breaking has held me in good stead.  ;D

Wow! really nice skills.  Looks like you are pretty well acclimatised to the weird and wonderful oblique pen holders.  ;D

Although I am no calligrapher I can and will thoroughly endorse these beautiful pen holders.  Great ergonomic design and really high level of workmanship by Edward.

I suspect that I will buy one in the not too distant future.  ;D

Here is a holder for the giveaway.

Erica, please decide how to choose a winner.  I'll abide by your decision.

Crafted from iconic English Yew - as used to make longbows!

Cool!

Glad they arrived safely.  You may want to ask Chris Yoke about adjusting the flanges.  He has tons of experience with vintage stuff.

Enjoy!

Progress.

The Strahm and the (presumably) replica Strahm are on their way to a new home in the US!

And I'm down to 7 fountain pens too.   :)

Reasonable advice, thanks.

There are, as far as I know, no clubs, societies or shows in my country.  At least none that I've seen advertised. We are quite isolated in this respect.

As far as quality goes I don't think there is any question about the two Yoke pens, the UniqueOblique, the EnglishPenCraft and the ChicOblique.  These are all by reputable makers and are largely unused.

The others ... I'd take what I can get.

Yes, it is a niche market, and a such movement may be slow.  I found the same thing when I was selling off my fountain pens. I'm down to the last 10 or so and it's hard shifting those.

Hi all,

I am going through an evaluation process right now that may lead me to divest myself of the oblique holders that I currently own.  This very small collection includes:

Two custom holders from Chris Yoke
One ergonomic holder from EnglishPenCrafts
One Curv-E from ChicObliques
One whale-tail ergonomic holder from AZWoodUA
Two enthusiast made holders.
One hourglass holder
One vintage Strahm holder
One possible replica of a Strahm holder
One custom holder from UniqueObliques

All are in either great condition, apart from the vintage ones that have obviously been used.

The question is whether to offer these for sale here; or if there is a another more appropriate venue (not eBay) maybe a member here could point me to it.

Cool!  8)

There was indeed a humpback whale in Dunedin harbour the other day.  There was also a southern right whale in Wellington (the capital) harbour too.   For a while there was a 'our whale is better than your whale' thing in the news here.

Glad you like the holder. Yes, it is a wee thing.  Edward markets it as a travel pen I think.  Well, enjoy!  :D

I'm getting a little concerned that this hasn't arrived yet, and I have no confirmation from Jennifer.

Okay, there were seven interested persons, and oh I wish I could give something to everyone. Alas, that I cannot.

Numbers were assigned, randomised and, in a manner reminiscent of the national lottery, a number rolled out.

The recipient of this giveaway is Jennifer J    ;D ;D

I will leave this active until Monday (local New Zealand time) and then make a selection.
