Am I the only person still using this tool? The Phantom Liner is no longer manufactured. But I swear by mine. It reflects lines onto your envelope or paper. Plus you can use it to trace pictures (although they will be mirror images of the original) I also use mine to center addresses and names on place cards. I print out the address in a font on my computer that matches my handwriting size (Citadel script, 40 pt). Then I reflect it onto my envelope and mark where each line begins with a tiny dot. I have the best success rate with this method of centering -- 95%. I started using this tool back in the 80's when I started addressing wedding invitations and the lining made it impossible to use a light table to see guidelines through the envelope. It took some getting used to, but saved so much time over drawing guidelines and erasing them. Nowadays there are many guideline stencils, laser liners and other tools (I have most of them) but my trusty phantom liner is still my go to choice. Sometimes they are available for sale on ebay.
