Those Jake Weidmann ergonomic holders have me drooling on my phone every time I see them.  ;)

I just want to shop!!!  The holders...o.m.g.

Portland, OREGON!?!  I've never been further west than Tennessee...or maybe Alabama...I guess that's further west than Tennessee, haha!  Let's do it!  ;D

I believe "West of the Mississippi" is the phrase you are looking for (at least according to the old Westerns).   ;)

Hello all!

I'm freshly back from the conference and boy am I EXHAUSTED! It truly was a wonderful week, and it did not disappoint in any way. I feel I've learned more in those packed 5 days than I had in the 12 months leading up to it ;). The new friendships forged were a huge encouragement, the teachers were brilliant.  Now, time to sit down and process it all. But first, a nap ...or maybe two.

I am truly hoping to attend next year as well, especially since it will be driving distance for me.

Oh - and the Weidmann holders - yeah, I couldn't resist. I had eyed them online and thought they were interesting, but wasn't going to spend that much without knowing what they actually felt like. I picked one up at the conference and the rest is history ;). They really are so comfortable to hold! I found it very helpful for flourishing and in my arm movement writing class. But, it did feel a little awkward when I switched to spencerian as I'd become accustomed to not writing with perfect form. Jake and his wife Hannah mentioned that it usually takes about a month to get totally used the the holders.  Btw, Jake and his wife are about as kind and welcoming as they come!

Portland 2016!

Just checking in after returning and man oh man am I tired!  OMG.  I met so many wonderful FF and IG friends in person for the first time and for the most part, was completely delighted.  Everyone was so nice!  It took about 3 1/2 days to get in the social groove.  By the last night, it was like "this is where the party starts!"

The classes were amazing.  Just aMAZing!  I am so full of new information and techniques that I'm dying to try but I'm too tired to do much at all.  Still processing the lot, too, and don't know what to do first, there was just so much!

I got one of Jake's holders, too, Chantelle.   ;)  And you're right--it's definitely going to require a learning curve.  I have had a couple of moments where I felt I was working it the right way but keep slipping back into old habits.  But once I get it, will it be possible to go back to an 'ordinary' pen?  Maybe it'll make them work better, too...I don't know.

One thing I keep thinking about is how social media has and will affect Iampeth and I'm sure many of the senior members are wondering, considering and in some cases, alarmed at how it will.  This year, to quote Ann Cobb, 2014's Iampeth President, there was an "overwhelming" response to enrollment.  I only hope they are anticipating a mushrooming of interest and will be able to accommodate the growing number of interested attendees--of which I hope to get in next year!

Just got back home.. tired out. Can't believe how many people this year.. it's a record again at 260+ people. But super fun to meet everyone.

At the hotel bar they were using coasters with the Iampeth 2015 logo on it.. would be a cool souvenir for those who couldn't make it this year. I grabbed a few since they were just sitting there at the bar. Just PM me if you want one.
