Open Flourish | General Discussion / Lid stuck - Bleed Proof White :(
« on: January 06, 2017, 06:05:39 PM »
Hey everyone! This is the second time this has happened to me, so I wanted to see what technique everyone else uses.

I open a fresh new bottle of Dr. Ph Martin's Bleed Proof White - use it, and put the lid back on the bottle. I go back to use my fairly new bottle and the lid is basically concreted shut by the ink that is in-between the lid and the bottle :( Any suggestions on how to get this unstuck without ruining the ink?

Bianca! You're amazing! SO yes, the tile is on mesh.  Words of advice?

Also, I've never worked with a metallic goucahe.  I've only used pearlex metallic pigment.  Any specific goucahe recommendations for a rose gold color?

Hey Calligraph-Friends :)

I have a client who is wanting marble tile to be used as place cards.  Does anyone have experience with lettering on marble tile? Any suggestions?  I'm thinking maybe a sharpie... but she is wanting to use rose gold ink - so I'm not even sure if pointed pen would work?  I know this is a super trendy thing right now.. and can't seem to find much online about it in terms of what type of pen/ink to use.  Your input is greatly appreciated!

Hey hey! I'm looking to play around with one of these brush pen's as well.  What kind of watercolor/ink should I purchase?  What is best for envelopes?

Thanks, Erica! I came across that site on my search.  Have you used them before? Any thoughts?

Hi there! Curious if anyone knows of a custom wrapping paper wholesaler?  I'm working on a new project and unable to find anything that is standing out to me online!

Thanks so much!

thank you everyone so much for your help! I ended up using the ziller's ink.  It didn't feather as much as the sumi moonpalace - however, it still feathered a little.  I just went back over the feathering with a light hairline and it turned out okay.. not ideal! but with the paper I was using, it was the best I could do.

Estafa: I picked up the Ziller's acrylic ink today! I'll try it out and see how it works!

Hi friends! I'm a newbie to the calligraphy arena - so please forgive me if I'm not using the correct terms when it comes to describing my issue.

I'm lettering an ornate certificate - using sumi moon palace ink.  The ink immediately started feathering.  So I stopped - and avoided what could have been a catastrophe!

I searched "feathering" throughout the forum and came across several posts referring to pounce, hairspray and gum sandarac.  I want to avoid using hairspray if possible. Can someone be so kind to clear up the difference between these other products and maybe explain how the product is used? I'd be so thankful!

Hi there! I'm from Nashville, Tennessee.  *BIG WAVE!*

It all began when I decided to hand letter my own wedding invitation envelopes.  After taking a few classes from local teachers, and a ton of practice, my wedding envelopes were by far the most precious aspect of my wedding.  I've been looking for ways to carry on my skills!  I've worked on a handful of invitation sets for friends and have recently lettered a few large chalkboards for a wedding.

I think this forum is amazing and I'm so happy to be included!
