Protective Coating for Watercolor
« on: October 17, 2016, 08:30:48 PM »
Hi guys!
I just found out about Watercolor Ground which turns almost any surface into a watercolor background. It's amazing for watercolor lettering. I really want to use this on phonecases, waterbottles, and journals for my lettering. However, I think I will need a protectant/glaze to prevent the watercolor from chipping. Do you guys have any solutions?
Thank you!

I use fixant spray which takes care of the chipping part. Used it on Gouache and happens to work fine.
Hope this helps.

hmmm... I'd think you'd need some sort of varnish or shellac for the items like cell phone covers since they get banged around so much.
