Hey Erica, first of all this is a great tutorial--

I am in Photoshop CC and don't know if that makes a difference--BUT

Everything is working fine and I save it and publish it as a header to my blog and the background is gray.  The lettering is beautiful--with the color--when I save it, it shows that it is white on PS but then............I have made about 10 and tried everything I can think of............any ideas...........

my website is

Oh it looks BeAuTiFuL! Did you figure it out because the background is now black... or did you want it white?

Look to see if you have a layer above the one you are using for the mask. Also, make sure you are in RGB mode. Let me know if either of those doesn't help. And if you could take a screen shot of your layers palette I could better tell.

I love what you posted though!

Hi Miss Erica!! I just saw this tutorial and it's awesome!!

Unfortunately, when I'm about to drag the blurred photo to the calligraphed words, the photo was too small. And when I select the create clipping mask.. it didn't went on the background. Huhuhu. :( I don't know why.

I hope you can help me.

Hi Charm,
The photo was probably a smaller resolution than your calligraphy image. Make sure it is the same resolution (dpi). If it's a smaller resolution, you can increase the resolution and it shouldn't matter too much because you are going to blur it anyway. I think it's Image, Image Size, then set resolution to match.

Once the image is the right size, make sure the clipping mask is on that layer, not the background.

Let me know if that doesn't help. And if not, explain what happens when you try to do the clipping mask.
Thanks! Good luck!
