Sean,
Thank you for your reply, i am taking one from my son, he has a few. Im sure i can attach it to a holder( i know i can and going to do so) but im sure it will not work as a stand because of the small footprint. The regular 6-sided is fairly precarious especially with a nib in puting weight off to one side up top. I may try it on a shorter crow quill holder that is not as tall. I will for sure post my results. Thanks again,
Noah

Tools & Supplies / Re: Recommendation: Steel ball for mixing inks
« on: December 01, 2015, 11:08:02 PM »
You can use Stainless Steel ball bearings from tattoo supply, example
http://store.unimaxwest.com/ball-bearings-for-ink-bottles-p16.aspx
They put them in ink to mix better. They would normally sterilize them before putting in ink bottle. It not necessary to sterilize for calligraphy ink or gouache, the bearings are stainless steel so wont rust, non magnetic so save for ink, but i would quick clean with some isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol first just to clean off. Hope this helps and good luck.

Tools & Supplies / New Oblique Holder

Hello all,
I made an oblique pen from one of my many plastic speedball contoured holders. I cut the pen with a jewelers saw and made the flange from sheet brass. I added a little customizing to the end which my wife pointed out could be used as a stand and it does. Thanks for looking,
Noah

Star,
You would be amazed how not alone we with these types of issues and feelings. Not many people are willing to admit issues and then the some that dont even know its an issue. I just recently started public posting my work as well as my issues and mainly from the awesome and accepting communities such as FF here for one. I also havnet spoke much about my diagnosed clinical depression, which i am comfortable talking about here. One of the reasons i dont talk much about it is i dont want it labeled into my artwork and have my art or my illness be the reason for the other thing if makes sense. I am socially akward as well and to much excitement is sensory overload. Lol thank you for replying and opening about your feelings and battles i greatly appreciate it.
Please take your time with the letter, it is to be stressfree and fun. So when ever you have it i will greatly appreciate it.
Thank you again,
Noah 😊❤️

@starlee,
Thank you so very much. I appreciate you kind comment. And also i truly enjoy seeing all of your flourishes on IG. 😊❤️

@rombenipayo,
You kind words are very appreciated. I use these drawings as an anxiety relief, helps me get outside of my head, so alot of the time i dont even notice large blocks of time pass quickly, but there are times when it feels like it is never ending. Hehe. Also i followed you on Instagram, you lettering is outstanding, i really enjoy seeing your work.

Thank you again forcall of the nice comments.
Noah 😊❤️

Show & Tell / Re: Calligraphy Cat Club
« on: November 21, 2015, 02:06:03 PM »
Hello everyone,
I love seeing all of the cute calligraphy kittehs so much. I realized I have not posted my newest member to the club. I am bad I know, but I got her for my B-day in October. She is constantly hopping up on to my work, even last night she did and was microns from hitting my dappen dish, lol. She is a 3 y.o. longhair dilute tortoiseshell and her name from the rescue that we go to (W.A.G.s, Westminster Adoption Group in Westminster, Ca) was Yoshi, but we changed it because she is the most dainty and lady like cat we have ever seen so we changed it to Pretty Lady, we just call her Lady or Ladybug (I admit to, I love Jerry Lewis and can’t say her name without saying “Hey LAAAAADDDDYYY!!!! Haha). Well this is my new girl, and thanks for looking,
Noah

Tools & Supplies / Re: Some goodies i have been tinkering with
« on: November 21, 2015, 01:33:40 PM »
Hello everyone,
So I totally ran out of room on my pen stand so I added more to it. I kept is separate from the original stand so as to be able to use the smaller one when needed. I still have some more holes to drill in one of the plates as well as still deciding on the finish for it. One note I made sure to address was the ink holder. I purchased some dappen dishes from the beauty supply as well as some small glass jars. The dappen dishes are not secure when tapping excess against rim so I wanted something integrated to hold them so they do not tip over. Thanks for looking,
Noah

Hello all,
I am suuuuuuper excited!!!!
I received my first pen pal from Bianca today. It is gorgeous and elegant and i am going to cherish this, as well as all of the others, for ever. I feel like a kid again and looking forward to more with everyone. Now is my turn to go and stress about my inadequate skills replying back. Thank you again Bianca, this is so special to me.
