Hello,

I had an idea to make some text for my neighbors who just had a baby boy. But I don't speak Spanish so I don't know if Google translate it right. Can someone translate it for me maybe 😊?

First we had eachother.
Then we had you.
Now we have everything.

Thank you so much!

Brush Calligraphy / Re: Brush lettering on a wall?

I have made this on my wall above my bed. It's about 1,5 meters high and 1 meter wide. First roughly sketched it over using a beamer and then painted it with a metallic wall paint.

I made my first birthday card, for my sister-in-law. Her birthday is tomorrow and I'm very curious of what she'll think of it.

What do you think?

I have ordered some bright pink ink to write on black but it's to sheer. Will gouache look good on black?

Hi everyone!

I'm just a few weeks learning copperplate, but I got the contemporary-fever.. I found a pdf course from the postman's knock but when is the right time to start practicing with that letterform (I ordered Kaitlin).

Is it too hard to learn both or should I wait to perfect my copperplate and when I'm ready in, maybe a half year or so, I can practice the modern calligraphy.

Hope to get some tips from you guys, thank you!

I noticed that if I practice with the whole letter instead of just the drills, it's easier for me to determine the wide and slant of the O-form.. When it's to wide, it's looks silly and when the slant is to straight, the downstroke next to it looks silly..

Is it okay to practice and do drills in this way? I feel more comfortable with it..

It's not mispelled, it's french! ;-)

Oh yes! Could say that too.. But I'm from Holland and here it's written like: kalligrafie, si that's where I was confused I guess.. But thank you, now I don't feel so bad about it 😁

Was playing around with a diy project.. Had some mod podge with loose copper glitter left so I thought: let's fancy up my calligraphy tools box. But then I was so distracted by the beautiful glitters that I spelled it wrong 😭 but it's beautiful anyhow..

I was actually playing around.. I was working on a diy and had some mod podge with copper glitters left. So I thought: let's fancy up my calligraphy box.

The one tiny stupid thing: I wrote it with 'ie' instead of 'y' 😭 stupid, stupid, stupid.. But love it anyway 😍

@jeanwilson wauw, thank you so much for you comment. The way you said it would definitely help me. I will practice again this week and will try out those words. Maybe it Wil come out better than, thank you!

@Starlee thank you again for your feedback! It really helps me to look extra critical at my writing and find out how to improve myself. The most forms are indeed in my head and it's good but when I practice it, it doesn't look like what I had in my head (then again, singing in my head sounds good, in real life not so much 😂).

But I will practice more on those O's, though I don't like them 😒..

And the rest..

I will make some miniscule and majuscule worksheets as well, but it's a lot of work.

So if someone is interested in those as well, let me know :)

Hello,

I've just started with copperplate calligraphy and the most thing I hear is to do drills.. But it's had to get the consistency of every stroke right so I thought, I make my own worksheets. These ones have traceable strokes over the entire page so I can learn the right shape of this form.

Maybe I'm not the only one, so I put them here below so you can download them too.

Hope it will help you as it hopefully will help me :)
