This isn't really a question... But I just
really wanted to share and my boyfriend thinks this whole fountain pen thing is crazy...
Anyway, my mom gave me her green Sheaffer Modern Crest a few months ago, which she never really took care of. I bought Sheaffer cartridges and a converter, it neither fit, and eventually showed it to Brian Anderson, from Anderson pens who diagnosed it as a shrunken barrel. I guess due to improper storage (high humidity) in the Philippines, the barrel shrank, causing Sheaffer converters and cartridges to no longer fit.
This morning I was attempting to cut a Sheaffer cartridge short then seal the end... and after getting ink everywhere, I was looking at other cartridges and noticed that international cartridges are about the same dimension. In went the Kaweco cartridge and it fits! After probably 10 years, the pen writes again!
It's a beautiful pen and a much wetter feed than the Kaweco. (So the same ink looks much, much darker)
Just wanted to share. I'm very excited.
