Rustica 5, super steep angle stub. How do you use this crazy thing?

The "best" I've been able to figure out is that crazy sideways writing, for which it seems to work well, but it's still very odd to write with. Thoughs?

Maybe that is exactly meant for writing the Capitalis Rustica script? It would make sense because this is a script with heavy emphasis on thick horizontal strokes …
