Request critique and suggestions
« on: August 12, 2017, 01:29:05 AM »
Hi,
Recently joined, and very recently started on this journey of copperplate. Finding good bleed proof paper and ink is proving a lot more difficult than I thought.
A couple of practice sheets, for suggestions please.

If you are looking for a good graph paper, Rhodia is the only one I've found that doesn't bleed at all. I've used it with sumi ink, walnut ink, iron gull, & watercolors.

Thanks. However, availability of Rhodia is a big issue where I am located. (Siliguri, India)

Welcome to the Forum Vipul,
I am from India too and I know the problems of getting good material here.  :)

Couple of papers that you can try out which are available locally and work well with dip pens

Make sure it is the Digio range that you order

This one has 4mm squares and works well too.  Not so good with Fountain pens and some inks,  but great with dip pens.
Happy writing

Hi Vipul,
Warm welcome. Great start with copperplate. I can also see you following Salman's tutorials. They are amazing if you follow them right.
Keep writing and keep posting.
