Has anyone used or repaired one of these? I am trying to figure out the use for the slot in this pencil-pen's side. Does it work in tandem with the retractable pencil lead holder?

I'm preparing to retire my first potato--my silent, non-chemical nib-cleaner.
Rather a bittersweet moment. I've named this little fellow Toothless. As soon as the weather warms a bit more, I'll bury it outside.

Open Flourish | General Discussion / Practice phrases?

I've searched the archives and found nothing concerning practice phrases, so I hope I'm not duplicating. But here's my question. After half-an-hour of push-pulls and ovals, I usually become antsy and want to write Words. What is your fave practice phrase that covers the complete alphabet?
I've found several:

Six jelly donuts for breakfast quickly zaps my willpower.
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.
Pack my box with five dozen liquor jugs.

I had to stop writing about Jelly donuts and create my own (too-long) phrase, because jelly donuts.

My name is Kacy, and I am a newbie to the forum, as well as calligraphy, which I've always admired. I love to read, write, draw, and spoil my family with cooking. I work full time with flowers, and practice calligraphy on my days off. I bought an oblique holder and three Nikko G nibs in December and promptly abandoned Nikko Gs for the Brause Rose and 66ef, plus Gillott 303s, 290s, and anything else that looks like fun. I'm also scouring Ebay for vintage nibs. Is $15 a fair price for a Gillott Principality? I hope so, because I bought one. I must stop.
