I love to work with Bleedproof White. It is necessary to find out how much water you must add. I even think it's also depending on which nib we use.  I write a lot with Zebra G and sometimes Spencerian nr 1.  Your work is very nice.

Thank you Erica an Star. I practice a lot.
You can see my work on Instagram ( http://instagram.com/tearlachscrib)

I find out by reading and practise with the book of Eleanor Winters which is mentioned a lot on this forum that is is not an advantage writing italic since a long time. All of my loops to ascender and desender but also all my curves in letters like m,u,n,... and even exitstroke were not rounded. Since i read about his I am trying to correct this.

Have a nice day !

Everyday Handwriting | Penmanship / Dr. J. Vitolo
« on: January 19, 2017, 06:18:45 AM »
I follow many writers on Instagram. For a couple of time Dr. J. Vitolo (drjmvitolo) writes very clear letters with fountain pen.  I was copying it with a fountain pen but do not know which kind of writing this is.  Does anyone knows the name of this type of writing.  The photo is my copying with words that do not mean much :)
Bye

Thank you Prasad. My own handwriting is "European Old School".  It was necessary for us all to write italic.  So maybe my calligraphy started at the age of 6 ?  ;)

Very nice work.  This kept you busy for a while I think. But isn't it a lot of fun ?

Before I started calligraphy I made a lot of things with handlettering.
These were my christmascards.
Next year it'll be in copperplate  :)

Introductions / Hi from Belgium-new-member.

I am a 54 year old men and got a burn-out recently.  On advice of the doctor I looked for something to get me going. A few years ago I followed some calligraphy lessons with blunt edge pen. Now I bought an oblique pen and started .... and can not stop 😀  I love Engrossers script and you can find a lot on internet. With trial and error and a lot of pratice my handwriting - which already was "old school italic" begins to get better. LOVE IT !  I always look forward to start practicing and difficult to stop. With the Flourish foruml I hope to share ideas, problems, etc.  And now ... practising 😜  BYE.  Karl
