Hi everyone!
I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is JB and I've been a steady practitioner of calligraphy since April of 2014. I'm also a member of my local calligraphy guild (so, hello to fellow Houston Calligraphy Guild members, should you see this!)
I work in the legal industry during the day. In my free time, I use calligraphy to zone out and take a little bit of time for myself. One of my calligraphic resolutions this year is to try and participate in more exchanges. I follow Linda Y. on Instagram and am always so jealous and inspired by the work she receives from the exchanges.
My "strengths" tend to lean more towards broad edge calligraphy with a particular love for Italic and Foundational. Back in October though, I've started to learn Engrosser's. It's been a learning process... I've attached a few samples of my work. I wished I had bigger projects to post, but my free time is limited these days, so I usually just practice with a saying, quote, word of the days, etc. when I find the time.
I'm looking forward to getting to know y'all a little bit better. In my short experience, the calligraphy community has been so kind and helpful. Hopefully, I can give back as well!
