Hi All - I'm Mike.
I'm an experienced visual creative and software trainer - but new to Calligraphy.
I run my own creative studio (vantagegraphics.co.uk) creating imagery mainly for marketing communications use - primarily working with photography, 3D-CGI and video. I also train others in software used these fields (mikeabbott.info). In my spare time I enjoy dabbling across a wide range of the visual arts.
With a graphic design background I've long been interested in typography and related matters, but it's only recently I've started exploring calligraphy. My focus is currently on broad pen styles. I've already learnt much from just reading the messages here on the forum, but stand by for some absolute newbie questions... ;)

Hi Mike! Welcome to the forum. This is a great place for newbie questions haha. Everyone here is very nice and helpful. I think you have a background that pairs nicely with calligraphy, looking forward to seeing your progress.

This is the perfect place for newbies.  Every single question (even totally dumb ones) are answered here.  I know this from personal experience. :)

Saw your website.  That's great work.  Specially liked the retouching stuff.
