Alcohol?  Really??
I've never heard of using it.  Is it common to use alcohol for ink?  I thought distilled water was the only thing we could use
to dilute it.

Adding a drop of alcohol to metallics was recommended to me years ago & it works.  For all other inks & of course gouache, distilled water.
