Thanks for sharing Ellen! I never tried the Moon Palace Sumi ink but I will. Actually, I practice with Kuretake Sumi Ink (Melissa Esplin's advice) which works great too. May be similar.

I was just wondering, you use a straight holder for copperplate/spencerian? Are you left handed?

Erica, no it isn't an oblique. Vince, I am right-handed and have only had success with a straight holder since I began learning copperplate.

Same here - to get the 55° slant without an oblique, I would have to break my wrist!
